Rallies are a great resource for radio amateurs – a good place to meet other amateurs and pick up a bargain. On this site, we look at the various UK rallies, so you can decide which ones to visit. Here’s a look at one of the UK’s rallies:
National Hamfest (Newark Rally) Information
This rally is probably the largest and most well-known in the calendar. It’s a two-day event which is held at the Newark Showground. It’s mostly an indoor event, although there is also an outside car boot sale and demo area.
The event is usually attended by the majority of radio manufacturers. The RSGB also has a sizeable presence at National Hamfest
- When: Annually, Usually October (Friday & Saturday)
- Admittance Price: £4 (2022 price) – pay in-car on arrival (or you can book online)
- Location: George Stephensons Hall, Newark Showground, NG24 2NY
- Parking: On the field at the showground
- Catering: Indoor cafeteria. Outdoor burger van
