        Hello all!

M7YIP based in Manchester, currently with a Yaesu FT-65 dual band VHF/UHF transceiver. Interested in looking into getting an HF transceiver, learning CW and experimenting with satellites and data. Honestly just want to get involved in a bit of everything.

Got into radio through friends who have been playing with SDR receivers, and then decided to take it a step further with a licence. Hope to learn a lot!

          welcome to the hobby

congrats on becoming licensed and it sounds like you have already found ham radio has many facets

HF depends on the amount of space you have for an antenna and budget for a transceiver, good news you can now build kits like the QDX or QMX from QRP-labs https://qrp-labs.com/qmx.html so a little 5w HF digital mode / CW transceiver for about £100-£150 depending on options

Xiegu do a G90 20w with built in ATU for about £400 then you start going into £1000+ for icom/yaesu etc for new,

2nd hand there are plenty out there, but see it working first

any questions ask, my email is my callsign at outlook.com
