        Hi all fellow ham’s,
I’ve currently got a 10 Mtr dipole in use for when the band is open, but wish to try and find something that may be more effective for dx contacts with out the need to fit radials so a vertical is out for me and was considering maybe a moxon or delta loop type only got a fairly small garden at my QTH and really don’t wish to run radials on the grass, just wondering if anyone could recommend either of the aforementioned options either a moxon or delta loop, would love to hear how they perform over the Dipole if anyone has done a comparison.
        Regards Alf.

          Hi Alf

main thing is get it 3-4mtr in the air for lower take-off angle if you are after DX,

what modes you going to operate? digital, SSB, CW?

you can get some 5/8 wavelength vertical which don’t have radials, or look at a vertical dipole with the centre at gutter height

have a look at https://moonrakeronline.com/amateur-radio/ham-amateur-radio-antennas/29-mhz-10m–18-mhz-17m for ideas on antenna for 10m

my 10m antenna is my fan dipole at 4m in the air and FT8/4 I get pretty much world wide with 40w
